1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

Alex Wilkinson is the data controller responsible for your personal information. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact me directly at hello@mensconnectglobal.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the personal data you explicitly provide via our sign-up form, which includes:

  • Your Full Name
  • Your Age
  • Your Location (Country and City)
  • Your reasons for joining the community
  • Your Email Address

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is processed for the following specific purposes:

  • Community Management: We use your name, location, and reason for joining to review your application, ensure a good fit for the group's culture, and manage membership.
  • Community Updates: If you provide explicit consent via the relevant checkbox, your email is used to send news and invites to local meetups.
  • Promotional Offers: If you provide explicit consent via the relevant partner checkbox, your email is used to send deals and recommendations from third-party brands relevant to members. Your data will never be used for a purpose you did not explicitly agree to.

4. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We only share your data with trusted processors required to operate the community and manage communications. Currently, this includes our form builder (Tally). In the future, this will include a secure email marketing platform used to deliver newsletters and offers. These platforms act as data processors and are legally bound to protect your data under GDPR standards.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

Application data (Name, Location, Reason) is retained for as long as you are an active member of the community. Your email address is retained for communication and marketing only for as long as you remain subscribed. If you withdraw your consent, your email will be immediately removed from all active mailing lists.

6. Starting a City

If you apply to start Men's Connect in your city (on the Start your city page), we collect:

  • Your First Name
  • Your City and Country
  • Your WhatsApp number or Email Address (whichever you give us)
  • Anything you choose to tell us about yourself, and whether you're happy to host the first meetup

We use these details only to contact you about starting a group in your city. They are stored on Men's Connect's own server in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany) and are not shared with anyone else. To keep out spam bots, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser but doesn't receive your form answers. Your IP address itself is not stored, only a scrambled one-way code made from it (to spot repeat spam), which can't be turned back into the address.

If no group starts, your details are deleted after 12 months. You can ask for them to be deleted sooner at any time by emailing hello@mensconnectglobal.com.

7. Services Directory

If you add a service on our Directory page, we also ask for your WhatsApp number and your Men's Connect city. We use the number only to check, once, that you're in that city's Men's Connect WhatsApp community. It is never shown on the site or shared, and right after the check we delete it, keeping only its last three digits and the result. The service details you send are published once approved. If you report a problem with a listing, we keep your message and any contact you give until the report is solved. Star ratings are anonymous. These forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam bots. To have a listing or your details removed, email hello@mensconnectglobal.com.

8. Your Data Rights Under GDPR

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent: Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of our messages.
  • Access your data: Request a copy of the personal data held about you.
  • Request deletion (Right to be forgotten): Ask for your personal data to be permanently deleted from our records.
  • Lodge a complaint: Complain to a data protection authority (such as the ÚOOÚ in Czechia) if you believe your data is being misused.
